    Oh bless you SA!

I don't know, I feel a little bit awkward about taking praise/compliments for it, because it kind of feels like a 2nd job... I do get paid for it, and in nearly all of the cases of young people I've had stay they have been through some pretty horrendous experiences, so there's an element of 'who am I to be mad about some crumbs on the floor' etc...

...but I appreciate the support, thank you!

The weekend was ok, except my lodger drank 6 pints of milk in 2 days and did not seem pleased when I gently explained that there will be no more milk until Saturday (when i do the shopping) unless he buys it with his own money. I think that is definitely something I need to talk to the charity about, that and the fact he's destroyed my favourite pan by using a sharp knife in it and scraping all the non-stick off :(

    Hey JVR,

It was good, it went well. There are definitely issues, like I got home last night and he'd completely failed to lock the front door when he went out so I'm lucky all my stuff didn't get stolen. I know it was a genuine mistake but that would invalidate my home insurance so I feel like we're still on 'final warning' time here. But he did apologise, and then he cleaned up after himself so I think he really was feeling bad!!

    Original Plan:
    By the end of August:
    1. Clear credit card (nope)
    2. Reduce loan to £6,000 (possible?)
    3. Increase savings pot to £130 (done! I did a thing I set out to do!)
    4. Decorate 'main' spare room (it just needs a coat of paint) (won't be happening)

So - my credit card is currently sitting at £875. That's not too bad, and it's better than I thought I'd get to after my previous lodger left. If I'm very careful I could get this paid off in 3 months, I think.

The loan is currently sitting at £6455 I think, or thereabouts. Before the end of August I will make the minimum payment of £175, and depending on what I get paid by the charity I might get it down to the £6k mark, but I'm not going to push myself on this one. The credit card will come first because the 0% rate isn't forever!!

And the painting won't get done because I've got the new lodger in the room and to be honest he seems to like the weird terracotta colour, so I'm not going to rush out and do that!!

Overall things are looking a little more positive. I think I'll easily get my credit card down to £600 this month, and I have a week off during which I will be attempting to get all of my assignments finished so I should be able to get them in early!! Would be something off my mind...

    Hi JW

Didn't know you'd got a new lodger. It's not the same at all but some of the people that use my workplace do stupid things that I then have to deal with. I feel like I don't want to be too over the top in what people can and can't do but it is also an issue when it impacts on your own insurance.

Hey Bob!! Lovely to hear from you :)

It's been almost 2 weeks since he arrived and it was a bit of a chaotic pairing, in the sense that he literally had nowhere else, so it was a rocky start but i think he's settling in.

I think it's very similar to your property, Bob! It's like, look - I know you didn't *mean* to leave the grill on when you left - and I'm very grateful you remembered to lock the front door this time, but that could still have burned down my house or in your case, knackered my business.

I don't want rid of him, but the charity have agreed to work with him to make him understand he can't just wander around absently haha!

I'm not updating much at the moment, mainly because nothing very interesting is happening!

My lodger seems to be settling better, I may even trial a weekend leaving him by himself while I go to my boyfriend's - but only if I can maybe get my mum to check on him while I'm away.

    Hi guys,

I promise I'm not soliciting you all for medical advice, and I am going to speak to my GP this morning but just interested in any opinions anyone might have:

I suffer from fairly infrequent but really nasty migraines with aura. These symptoms include partial vision loss, flickering lights, spots in my vision and a kind of kaleidoscope thing, followed sometimes by aphasia (inability to speak - particularly to someone who likes the sound of their own voice as much as I do :rotfl:) and sometimes by feeling nauseated but always, always, always debilitating headaches.

I have been taking sumatriptan for them for about three years, and it has occurred to me recently that this doesn't seem to make the blindest (no pun intended) bit of difference, so I'm going to talk to my GP about changing my prescription but I wonder if anyone with similar symptoms has been prescribed sumatriptan and if so what your experiences were?

Like I said, I will always follows GP orders so I'm not expecting medical advice here, I think I'm just looking for someone who understands my pain!!!

Poor you that sounds so awful. I really don't know the first thing about them. I think but am not sure but CCL or Kirstypoos may also be sufferers? Worth an ask if they happen along.
