If I could afford that I wouldn't be fretting about $60 per kilo for the baggage allowance! Airfare was already £1500 for an economy ticket booked in advance. *sigh*

The guy I spoke to said he thinks it's unfair that some passengers get 30kg but others get 20kg... but his managers won't budge on it. Pretty sad. Won't fly Cathay again!

Yes, but you probably get Avios from Tesco Clubcard, from your insurance, from your credit card... when I looked into this I found that I only needed a few more than I had when I wanted a long-haul upgrade, and there are affordable ways of buying them on Ebay. No: I am not suggesting that you simply pay the airline for a premium ticket!
