I've done 16hrs in economy before so am extea hour to Perth would be worth it, even flying to other destinations in Australia I'd still feel I'd 'arrived' at my designation more than having to transit via the Middle East or Asia.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I really like Singapore, so a layover there is no hardship at all.0

Next month I'm going to visit Sydney. I've already booked cheap tickets at https://uk.lowcost.club/ to save more money for entertainments. I heard that Australians are extremely friendly and polite people. I've never been in Australia before, hope it will be unforgettable trip.0

We've briefly discussed these long flights as our DD lives in Sydney.
We're fortunate that when we went to Sydney last year, we flew QR in J but to take advantage of an excellent fare, we went ex-EU from Stockholm & did 3/4 hour stops in Doha & HKG. It was good to get off the planes & shower, walk around etc so I don't think I'd do a straight 17 hour flight but I'd look at one 4/5 hour layover next time, although if we didn't have annual leave constraints, I'd stop over in HKG for a few days.0 -

I would love to be able to afford to go to Australia , so any flight would do, but if I had a choice a layover would be preferable. The last time I went in 2000 I had a 5 hour in Singapore, enough time for a walk and a leg stretch0

Looks like it'll be LHR-PER-MEL routingPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
I'll definitely be considering this now that Perth is an option.
It will be interesting to see pricing.0 -
Not cheap, just a tad over £4K business class
Think I'll give it a miss0
