With the mortgage payment it brings us to £250k on the nose! One milestone down, just a few more to go.
  • Hiya

#125 with an OP for August of £272.70 - smaller than hoped with the school holidays and us being away but better than nothing...

Hoping for better in September but we shall see.

    Thanks all.... Jen x
  • Hi there

Edged the monthly overpayments up by £30 this month. Really need to get in touch with my self control and eat everything in the cupboards and freezer (okay that reads wrong - I mean use stuff I already have rather than buying new - not going on a massive 'all you can eat' session) so I can free up some more money to chuck at this mortgage. Hmmmm, any idea where I put my self control, or even my will power?

Any ways #02 reporting an overpayment of £609.81 in September leading to a new total of £5,198.29

Good luck everyone in your September MFW goals. Thanks HiddenShadow for keeping us on track.
    Take care

  • Number 15 checking in.....

Well.... I am delighted! After paying my large chunk last week I got a letter from Nationwide saying that the term of my mortgage now sits at 13yrs and 1 month. I think this is absolutely amazing as I only got the term reduced to 15yrs in March (of this year!) and thanks to the over-payments I have almost knocked 2 years off. 2 years!!! Amazing!

To top this off, I have made a £500 payment which also brings me into the bracket of owning half my house (house valued at £120,000. Balance owed is now £59,700).

What a month! Thanks to everyone on this board. Without hearing your stories/diaries, this would never have happened. You lot are an inspiration.

finally got round to looking at my figures. Can you please add £650 for January and £830 for August Hidden Shadow.

Unfortunately it looks like I will struggle to meet my target this year as I just had to replace my car which was only 4, but I'll keep chipping away at it.
