  • Hi all and hidden shadow, can i join in please?

    Our mortgage is currently around £66000 and we can make a 10% overpayment, but we're going to aim a bit lower £5000.

    i'm new to overpaying and unsure of when our year runs i.e is it july to june as thats when we took it out or jan to dec as thats the statements we get. if anyone can enlighten me id be grateful

    Ive already made my first OP of £400 on 13/1/17 as my husband was owed some back pay

  • I should have mentioned when asking to join, I won't be making proper overpayments until May as getting married in the spring and a lot of our money is going towards that.
    However, I did transfer the interest I got from my current account as an OP (every little helps) so please put me down for £10.38 in Jan.
    Starting mortgage (Sep 2016): £314,124.00
    Current balance (Oct 2018): £267,400.00
    2018 OP so far: £14233.27/[STRIKE]£10,000[/STRIKE] £14,000

    thanks for my number HiddenShadow! sorry for taking so long to get back with my target OP amount, I'm trying to balance increasing my savings against horsing it all into the mortgage, but am looking to have £20,000 saved towards mortgage freedom by the end of the year!

    2019 overpayments : £23,000

    #81 here, after a bit of jiggling numbers around I've been able to OP some more for January. Total for this month is £800 no more OP's now til Feb.
