We love our warming drawer and use it all the time!

Maybe you haven't a second oven to do the same job!

We opted for a free standing microwave in a corner, which freed-up a space for the totally useless warming drawer my wife insisted on. .
    :D

We considered having one of them but, when we realised that they only heat up to about 70 degrees C, we rejected the idea.

I put plates in a hot oven at about 180 degrees for a few minutes. We like really hot plates as it keeps the food warmer for longer.

One of our pet hates is restaurants (and friends) that do not heat up plates. Your food goes cold so quickly on a cold plate.

    Agreed.

Warming drawers are several hundred pounds and are a waste of space and money if you have two ovens.

It is far cheaper to heat up an oven just for plate warming than it is to spend a small fortune on a warming drawer.

The reason I'm moving fridge freezer is for years it had been on an end and had blocked light coming in from a large window. Hadn't really realised how much until now, so it should make a big difference having it tucked in the corner.

Hadn't thought about a warming drawer, but I do prefer food put on warm plates. I just stick them in the oven, then hubby complains they're too hot when I forget about them.

Coming up to our fourth week without a kitchen due to damp problems that showed up, hopefully sorted now. Fed up of takeaways, greggs pasties, tried a few slow cooker meals but missing my dishwasher

Thanks Tony, I'm starting to think that myself now. No doubt I'll find something else to stress out over.

Tell him to do the cooking if he doesn't like your way of doing things. :D
