This is disgraceful on the part of the supplier.
Try shaming on Facebook, Twitter and anywhere else you can think of - being scrupulously careful not to write anything libelous.
Your current explanation should, with editing, be ideal. I'd also try Trading Standards, Yelp and even the local paper!
I had a similar situation in Aix en Provence over a soft drink rip off. I made such a loud fuss in French that they took the overcharge off the bill. I didn't even leave a tip; I'm hard, or what?0 -
Or next time don't have too many sherbets!0

Why the local paper ?
The OP made a mistake in not asking for the price, its a lesson learnt.0 -
A similar situation happened to us in Italy. We ordered a fish dish and the owner said that another dish (not shown on the menu) was much better, the dish we chose was already quite expensive. It arrived we ate it and it was fine, when the bill arrived each dish was E20 more expensive. We paid and left, and each night when we passed the restaurant the chap who had enticed us in looked the other way, so we knew he was aware of what he had done.
It was probably quite a regular scam. I did a review on Trip Advisor expressing my opinion of how we had been duped, but it was a lesson learned!0 -

No pathetic is what I'd describe you as. I'd be able to achieve the same outcome but at the same time would treat the staff with dignity, this is obviously something that's completely beyond you. It's also what will always get people like me better outcomes and more money off than you.0
