Freezer Jenga!

I thought my freezer was full to bursting. But I have this week squeezed in 2 pineapples, bought cheap from the market and kindly prepped and diced by Mr LW - I use them in nut loaf with sweet'n'sour sauce, Wolfy's special egg fried rice, and atop HM pizza. Also sliced and froze two lemons (again cheap from the market) ready for cups of tea (I don't like milk in tea) and bought an extra pack of Qu0rn bacon-style slices cos I had a coupon about to expire; I've shoe-horned that in too.
The fridge section is equally stuffed; there's no farmers market in January so I've had to buy my cheese early; there's Mr LW's annual Stilton in there, too, and egg-stra eggs (sorry couldn't resist the pun).
Now Mr LW informs me he wants me to make a chocolate cheesecake; I have a no-bake recipe but it has to be frozen for an hour, then goes in the fridge. I think he may have to wait til we've used some of our supplies!
It's not usually quite that stuffed - but I refuse point blank to go shopping when the annual Feeding Frenzy that is Xmas week is in full swing.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
After the 4th change in catering arrangements over New Year, I've given up on the original plan. I've ordered my MF delivery when I want it, and sod everybody else who can't organise their lives (considering 80% are current or ex military i am aghast at their lax approach to organisation)
One delivery arriving on Thursday with my chicken to parcel up for healthy eating from 1st Jan. The second will arrive on the 30th with lamb for my parents and us on Hogmanay. The freezer will be defrosted on 30th.
So there.:mad:Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
Pleased to announce my freezers are just about empty other then what's needed for this week and a couple of joints
I'm on defrost duty tomorrow. The fridge freezer is frost free, but it makes really weird noises and I've heard it's down to the innards getting mucked up keeping it all frost free
The ' Christmas shopping ' for what it is has been done, only got to get the veg and turkey Christmas Eve so nothing to worry about going off/defrosting.
Something rather comforting about having an empty freezer this side of Christmas0 -
Islandmaid - smokey corn chowder is a big favourite in our house and it's one of those handy soups you can whip up in minutes.
We only have a small fridge / freezer so there's just the freezer box which is quite small. I think we do pretty well with it. And the moment there's quite a bit of pumpkin puree in there. I roasted all my pumpkins after samhain and mashed them then froze them in 1/4 cup portions in a cup cake tray. Then when frozen I popped them out and into freezer bags. The only problem is I hate cooked pumpkin!
I also have two egg whites in there from when I made some mayonnaise with the yokes. I've never frozen egg before. They are raw. Do I just defrost and use as normal?Vintage loving, allotment holding, low waste living. Indi = DH. Maisie Bones = fur baby

Defrost done early. No UFO's
and only 2 items on list not located, 1 item in freezer not on list. :T:T
I now have 5kg of chicken breasts and assorted extras packaged sensibly, and I made a hugs vat of soup.
Still one complete basket empty.:j
Success. Isn't it sad how happy that makes me:rotfl:Goals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -
