    There's no point pulling out until you have had an offer accepted elsewhere, given that you've essentially done all the work now, as long as you've been clear to them that you need to move more quickly than they're suggesting.

    Some would call that stringing them along, but I think it's on them, really. I'm baffled as to why someone would put their house on the market when they're not ready to move, or at least rent while they buy. They're going to really struggle to find accommodating buyers.

    I tend to agree with the other posters BUT if it's the house of your dreams then may be it's worth a chat with your solicitor to see if he can write to your mortgage lender and explain the circumstances and see if your mortgage offer can be extended. Likewise your searches do have a "shelf life" I have a vague recollection that you can pay so much (obviously not the total cost you paid in the first place) and have your Local Search "updated" worth speaking to your solicitor about.
