For smaller items, the jump from £10 to £20 to qualify for free delivery makes it a bit more of a pain having to wait until I need a few things before ordering. Added to the fact Amazon are slower to dispatch your items than they were in the past, but as both of these issues are contrived by Amazon to encourage you to pay for prime, it puts me off. They are still my number one destination for shopping online, but as I will make no use of Amazon video and only sporadic use of Music, paying £60-80 per year, and then feeling I have to buy from Amazon having paid that money.... well its not really worth it. I'm still tempted every now and then mind you.

The months Prime trial is still free all you need to do is cancel before the months trail ends .
Dec trial gives Prime delivery and access over Christmas i shall cancel about the 20th Dec to make sure .
  • Think it depends how much you order through Amazon. I order loads, so have easily saved a few hundred quid over the year. Having the option of free next day delivery on many items is nice too!

I should also point out that during my free trail(s managed to get a couple this year somehow) i did try to take advantage and order as much as i could. I found the 'next day delivery' promise to be pretty much BS. I cant remember a single item out of over a dozen that did arrive the next day. Most took a couple of days. A couple i even had to chase. Bearing in mind that the 'free' standard deliver option normally takes a couple of days i cant see how Prime is worth the money.

It must vary by area. Same day and next day delivery always turn up on time here and things that are supposed to turn up later often turn up a couple of days earlier than expected. However, same day delivery isn't available where my family live. It's worth doing a free trial if you can to see what it's like near you.
