Thanks all. I might need to be a bit more careful with SOC!

I think this is the page you need from the manual QrizB, something like setting your normal discharge to 80 but eps to 90 stops it happening  *I think*.
Will depend on the amount of batteries though, I think you said recently you were still around 1kwh or so, and so there will be a greater drop for you over time than someone with say 10kwh

Yes, I will have to check but I think my normal and EPS % settings are the same, since I don't have anything connected to the EPS output. I can definitely adjust that.
As of last month my battery is now bigger, about 5kWh, so I'm not such an outlier!

    Hi Luxpower inverter here.
I have contacted Lux re pulling from grid when I shouldn’t and they made adjustments but it has not altered the pull.

last week the house was empty so got a true reading over 24 hours of residual grid power.

So the consumption happens when battery is charging from solar.

what do I need to ask Luxpower to sort this out?

0.266 kWh. in a day? .. a couple of old 100W lightbulbs a day.. It wont get a lot better. Im no expert but have had a system for a while,. The inverter will not switch fast enough to have no grid import.. freezer kicks in etc  ... import until it realises it doesn't need to .. over simplistic but it is a few seconds behind demand.

I suppose so. At one point it was bang on accurate but hey ho I agree just have to fork out 5p to the energy providers.

Always a little bit of "leakage". Worst day here was when hubby was in DIY mode and had some plugged in power tool saw on the go, on, off, on, off for an hour or so. I couldn't really complain, he was chopping up lots of bits of wood to make garden planters for me

I've joined our local council bulk purchase scheme for a battery system. I now have the offer and have a while to decide if I want to go ahead, so I thought that I'd expose it to you guys for a verdict:
The winner of the auction was a company called "Solarair" and they are "recommending" a 4kWh battery system for £5430.
    Other options are:
    8kWh £7943
    12kWh £9283
    14kWh £11711
I have 4kWp PV generating 3834kWh pa, an EV, 2kW Hot tub, Octopus Go (4 hours cheap rate, 3237kWh pa peak, 3043 pa o/p, 1293 pa exported).
Specs: Sofar Hybrid Inverter (no model given) and Pylon US2000Plus batteries.
Fully installed, all with 10 year warranty. Feelings?

Our council did something similar. It was an absolute rip off.

The recommendation to you sounds steep, too - even after factoring how absurdly expensive this has all become. You could get a us2000b for £650-£700, they're now £900+. Your battery system would be £1800 for 2x batteries, £500 for the inverter, let's say £1000 to install. That's £3300. How are they adding £2k to that I don't know.

Add two more batteries for the 8kwh system, that's £5100 rather than £7943.

Councils should get a smacking for peddling crap like this.
