    This came up on my YouTube feed today.
    Interesting idea but I'm struggling to see how you could justify the cost at £1400 for 3kwh given you can buy an immersion controller for about a third of that or less.
    The ROI time scale must be almost geologic.

    It's not just an immersion controller, it's a hot water tank in a small box.

    For someone like me, who has a boiler that can take a 55c input, and as my boiler is in the kitchen, it can be mounted behind a cupboard in dead space, providing free hot water in summer, yet still allowing the boiler to work normally In the winter.

    It saves me buying a thermal store and all its pipework.

    Havent 100% decided on it yet, but definitely tempted... though it would be the 9kwh unit

    I guess if you don't already have a hot water tank or need a new one, that would make it a better buy.
    I take it you can grid charge it to make use of cheaper TOU rates ?

    Hi folks,

    What's the going rate for ac coupled batteries now? I already have an inverter / solar.

    Just got a quote, wondering whether its competitive

    It'd be for luxpower system, 3.5kw for 2800, 7kw for 3700. I'd be happy with the 7kw one.
    5.41 kWp System, E-W. Installed Nov 2017
    Lux + 3 x US2000B + 2 x US3000C battery storage. Installed Mar 2020.

    Those prices sound ok. Think Renewables by any chance ?
    We paid £2600 for 4.8kwh but that involved a bit of haggling on ebay to get the the price of the batteries down a bit.

    Sorry. As I said, not my thoughts, just quoting rubbish generalisations others quote on here. It’s not my style, I prefer a more courteous approach but I just wanted to make a point having seen a few of your posts relative to me and GA recently.

    Being a little more tolerant and pleasant to each other helps make the world go round but some folk who consider themselves superior like to make comments of that nature - put downs. Others like a bit of bullying online calling people names and others join in posting :rotfl: when they see an attempt to humiliate people. Where’s the problem - it’s just a bit of harmless fun, isn’t it?

    Why do people behave like that to others on forums? What do they get out if it?

    I just want people to stop and think how they would feel if they were the subject of some of the never ending personal attacks. This forum is supposed to be about green and ethical money saving, not calling someone names because they don’t share your view of the world.

    I think most of us are just weary from the constant argument/contradiction from one particular member jumping on posts every time we post some factual news or give an opinion.
    Lively debate with differing opinions is one thing but this is something else altogether.
    It's coming across like there's an agenda and it's getting very old.

    If it's an agenda then it's a very confused one! I don't see how one poster is likely to have patents on, or investments in, all of:
    * international grid interconnectors
    * nuclear reactors
    * district heating grids
    * 5-person miniature electric robo-taxis
    * human longevity extension to 200+ years using shark DNA
    * solar PV for roofs of cars
    * bear AI
    * plug-in hybrids with (specifically!) 55 mile range
    * magical underground car tunnels
    * and more....
    7.25 kWp PV system (4.1kW WSW & 3.15kW ENE), Solis inverter, myenergi eddi & harvi for energy diversion to immersion heater. myenergi hub for Virtual Power Plant demand-side response trial.
