    £785.12 saved for November.

    HTB ISA - £200
    Nationwide RS - £500
P2P - £85.12 (this is purely from interest)

£597.41 saved for December. Largely paid for skiing holiday in January and Christmas costs, which means I have saved £12,427.51 in total for 2017 and beat my target!!

2018 will start tough as I incur costs for my holiday in January, but from February onwards it should be looking good especially with my new (higher!) salary which started in December 2017.

    Breakdown as below:

    HTB ISA - £366.19
    Nationwide RS - £500
    P2P - -£268.78 (withdrew some money)

Well done all! Happy saving and all the best for 2018!

Hello. Does the December amount have to be reported on the 31st ( or before ) or can I do it on 3rd Jan for example - would only count savings up to 31/12/17. I'm really busy at work over Christmas and new year so may not get a chance to do on 31st
You can do it after, no problem :)

  • Sorry I dropped out mid way, I am #132 and my total for the year was £2,000. It was a combination of things , buy hey. I saved £8,000 last year, so I am hoping to get somewhere near that in the new January challenge.

Another £850 for me this month bringing my total for 2017 to 7150 (form update sent). A little short of my target but a figure I am happy with nonetheless:)

Good luck for 2018 everyone, off to visit the new thread!

Nice one, Geoffers, thanks. I'm impressed how much I've managed to save :D .

Thanks again to SlowlyFading for running these threads; I'm sure I'd have fallen off the savings wagon without them, and without everyone else's contributions which are always motivating.

Very happy to report saving of £1163.30 this month, reaching and exceeding my target! I feel like I can spoil myself this Christmas with my December pay check, but I still aim to save as much as I can from it.

I've also decided to over pay my mortgage with my pay rise but will start that in the new year and feel comfortable doing so now that I have rebuilt my nest egg.

Thank you slowly fading and all the contributors to this thread.

I didn't do as I said and decided to spoil myself as well as other this Christmas and slightly dipped into my saving to the tune of £37.36. But i'm ecstatic to end the year having saved a grand total of £15,500.

    Well done to everyone!
