Try a disc lock too, if the scooter will fit one, means the scooter can't just be pushed away if they do manage to break the lock/chain. Just another level of security.

Depends on what sort of electric scooter, but that brings in another issue of charging the battery indoors.

Depending on the battery chemistry they can give off hydrogen gas which is flammable or lithium batteries which can swell and catch fire with no warning.
Even if its the type that resists bursting into a huge fireball there is still the issue of them breaking open and filling your home with toxic fumes.

Maybe a pushbike? No messing with batteries etc.
