Would it be safe to park a moped on a street? if so what types of chains and security would I need?

I don't think a scooter is possible to carry up stairs everyday..

I need my scooter to get around, but surely there must be a solution? i'm willing to pay for security..

I don't think it would be a good idea to store something containing petrol and oil inside a residential building.

I would go so far as to bet that it would be a breach of the fire safety regulations for the block.
  • You'll need a good lock and something solid to chain it to.

There is a communal balcony outside my flat.

I could bring it up and then put a CCTV camera watching it?

would also knock some off insurance..

What is a good lock? would a lamp-post do?

In the days of Battery angle grinders a good lock is no better than an average lock. Yes a lamp post will be OK so long as the pavement is not obstructed.

If we were talking an R1 then I'd agree. But your average yoof who nicks scoters ain't going to be carrying one.
  • Lamp post, lock round lamp post. It's as good as you'll get on the public road.

Any possibility of renting a garage nearby? I rent one from the council for around £7 a week.

Would a ramp work? it is literally only to get it above a shop, only like 10 steps.
