It's often worth putting a cover on it too
One of the bike magazines did a test with bikes left in 'hot spots' and when covered, attracted less attention.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

Your neighbours may take a dislike to your bringing a scooter inside, plus the issues of having a petrol vehicle indoors.
Scooter theft is big money, i doubt it will be there for long, no matter how big the lock.
They broke into my mates garage to steal his. BIL had at least 3 stolen from the back garden and outside the front of his house.
Any friends local with a secure place to keep it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
1. Big chain and lock. Almax, if you can afford it. Check Youtube for why they are so good.
2. Chain through rear wheel and around frame, leaving as little slack as possible.
3. Chain round something very solid (lamp post OK) but make sure the chain can't be simply lifted over the object (e.g. parking meter).
4. Bike cover is a very good idea. If you can't see the bike, there is less temptation.
5. Off the road and in a private area is a good idea. Anyone interfering with it will be obviously up to no good. On the street, no-one will pay any attention.
An unsecured scooter can be taken in seconds. Two ride up on another scoot. One gets on yours, the rider of the other puts his foot against your footboards, and off they go side-by-side. Possible with any bike, but easier with a scooter. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

An electric scooter using a ramp to take it up the stairs and into my flat.. would that work?
And no, I have no friends or family nearby. I hate people. But thanks.0 -
Good grief, this place really is a haven for social inadequates isn't it :rotfl:
An Almax or Pragmasis chain around lamp post with a non descript cover on the moped is your best bet.
Taking it in to your building is a terrible idea, and will probably end up with one of the people you hate so much having words with you.0 -
Can you take it through the close and leave it in a back garden?
A removable ramp is going to be a nightmare.0 -

An e-bike will wheel upstairs, but if you can get away with an e-bike, you might as well just have a bike that you pedal.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
