The amount I have spent hasn't changed since they were little
No, we spend as much as we did when they were kids.
Added to the grandkids, Christmas is an 'oh, God' time.....
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.0 -

Now i know full way it's NOT the way it should be, but more often than not its the case.
They are 5 & 2 at the moment - but yes it will be something to consider as they get older.0 -
WFA?
Winter fuel allowance!
My MIL chose to buy presents for her loved ones rather than heat her house with the allowance awarded to her because of her old age and dire financial situation!
I admire and love her intention - but wish she hadn't.
Maybe, just maybe, she'd still be around today if she'd looked after herself a bit more!:(0 -
I'm 30 and my Mum spends about £80 on me at christmas I suppose, though saying that she bought me some Ugg boots 3 years ago that were £120 (thanks Mother
) but generally under £100 I would say with one "main" presents and a few bits like PJ's/choc/nail varnish/perfume.

I'm 28 and get about £100 spent on me, plus about £50 on my husband. I have to say I do find it a little odd she spends less on him...I'd be happy to reduce mine and make it more equal but that's by the by!
That's the same as we've had for years and even though my parents are very comfortable I wouldn't want them to spend any more. We're expecting our first baby though so it may well change after that.Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -

I spend more in my daughter than her partner, but I've only got the one & before she had children I spent several hundred on her alone.
So while I've reduced it now she's a grown woman & I have grandchildren to buy for, there is a bit of a hangover from that.
I said earlier I spend about £100, but I don't really.
Last present I bought her was a Michael Kors bag & before that an iPad. But I have a budget of £100 in my head :-)0 -
I have a son and daughter in law with 2 children
Parents get £100 to spend on themselves or a treat for the whole family
and the little ones get presents to the value of ~£20 each so a total of £~140
Daughter and Son in law get £100 in money and pressies to around the same
value as the little ones, so same for each family.
I am passionate about giving both my kids the same.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
As an adult child I usually just get a token gift from my Mum - Pj's or a book etc.
Last year I had a really rough year and she treated me to a new ipad (as I'd always wanted one.) And I was extremely pleased and grateful, but would never expect anything like that . This year I've asked "Santa" for a new dressing gown.
My partner gives his adult kids money (£20 each I think.)0
