  • Hello ladies and thank you for the new thread Deleted_User.

I am back in again. I would like to UU 10 full size items in December and 10 samples. I have the L'occitane advent calendar so lots of sample sized INs to enjoy.

Last December I declared myself "off my no-buy" and spent £88. Looking through the list, I still have all but one of those items in the stash. Must behave this year!

YTD I have UU'd 123 items and acquired 108 INs. Aiming to end up down overall at the end of the year (even if I end up having to have an emergency bath on New Year's Eve).

Love the concept of an emergency bath!

I have a UU to report.
My beloved Omorovicza herbal cleansing balm. Horrendously expensive but I got with a generous GWP of items I am also loving. WDBA if and when I have the money too and need another balm cleanser (powering on with two others!).

    A uu to report:

Sainsburys tea tree 2 in 1 shampoo- WNBA this was too runny for my liking. The scent was okay. Dont think it did a lot for my hair, my hair felt dried out. Replaced it with a timotei one.

catherine/kate - I have items from two Christmases ago which are untouched, it's crazy, it's like I'm a stockist.

Houseplant - I had an Omorovicza mask a couple of years ago and loved it, it came with a sample of the black cleanser which I loved but just couldn't get over the price so never bought.

  • I'm finding the micellar water and the wilko cotton pads on my list going down at a steady rate of knots now that I've finished using wet wipes :o

That's what I'm trying to do - "break the cycle" and stop seeing wipes as the cure-all/be all and end all and start using proper products specialised for my skin type and get into a proper routine :o

    And they're still perfectly good?

See, 10 years might be a bit too long for me, unless of course you know for a fact it has been sealed the entire time AND stored correctly :o

Everything is unopened. I'm of the mindset if it looks and smells fine then use it. I'm the same with most foods. We live in a world where we're encouraged to throw things away when they're deemed no good and spend money buying them again. If I threw everything away that was considered unusable I hate to think of the money I would be wasting. We all have our reasons for hoarding and buying, in this case, toiletries but most of us would probably have a fit if we knew how much value wise we were throwing away just because we're made to believe we should.

I'm pleased to say I am no longer an Avon rep and so my buying has reduced considerably. I may not be using things up as quickly as I'd like or should be but am quite happy using the things I do have providing they're still ok to do so.

We shouldn't be letting people dictate to us when things should no longer be used. We're all savvy enough to see and smell when something is no longer fit for use.

    Amen to this.

I actually really do see your point and believe it is 100% valid, when you put it like that! :D
