You work with autistic children, that means you know theres such thing as a SPECTRUM! to let you know I may not leave the house for days most of times is about every 5 days on average, has been 10 days and even more than 2 weeks on some occasions.

I used to get carers until local cutbacks stopped them.

Though I can do things so often I have left things too late

When I leave the house im lucky if I can just go to town, have a quick window shop in a few places then come home, anything even travelling to next town along I find impossible.

You see coping as meaning I could be bricking it as they say and in such severe anxiety I pay to get him to leave me alone.

I only recently found myself able to deal with chuggers, before that I used to listen to their pitch then agree to sign up then just cancel direct debit.

In fact had door to door salesman change my utility provider recently as didn't want to argue,

I only have the isp I have as it was door to door sales (was happy with previous one)

Then you need to go see your GP.

What would that accomplish though? They already told me they can't help me.

They can't help you because YOU DON'T NEED HELP!!!!

On the evidence of your previous posts here, your autism or anxiety is not severe enough to stop you from functioning normally in society. You are capable of contracting with food, transportation and accommodation companies. Why is it different for a cosmetics one?

    Look at this previous post:

Anyone who is severely autistic would struggle to write a post as coherently as that,
let alone organise their own food, transport and accommodation! You may be on the autistic spectrum, but you don't come across like that in what you do and say :) (which is good).

Anyone who is severely anxious would not be talking about other restaurants to go to, going into a supermarket, going into a subway etc.

Catch my drift? Nothing wrong with you.*

So, based solely on the evidence on this forum, the contract is valid and you need to learn coping strategies.

If you want to still maintain that you are vulnerable here then you NEED to go back to the GP, because you shouldn't be doing things on your own. You also should have your credit card cut up IMMEDIATELY, because you cannot be trusted with money (seriously!). You should not be going out alone (which can include friend/family if no carer available). You need to be looking into charities and support groups for autistic/anxiety people as well.

*In the context of whether you can function normally or not.

Is that a fact or an unqualified opinion?

    Edinburgh Waverly by any chance??

If it is, this guy tried to stop me and jumped in front of me.... wouldn't let me past, saying your skin needs this cream! just take a look here, sit down and i will show you.... told him i have no money to buy anything so don't waste your time, stepped to the side and carried on... but if i wasn't confident i could see how this guy would have put a hard sell on buying this !!!!....

Sadly i think a lesson learned and as others have suggested sell it on ebay or decant into smaller pots and give away as christmas presents, leave the card at home next time and say you can't afford it. No money, no sale, wasting your time... maybe a thanks to be polite!!! (i don't thank them!!)

I don't have a debit card or credit card, I am an un-discharged bankrupt.

    I'd go with that one.
OTT/lies.... it's hard for them to try to get round.

    An unqualified opinion.

(though I like how you narrowed the selection to just two! It could have been a qualified opinion as well, though I don't count my brief work with autistic children as "qualified" because I only worked briefly with those who had to be taught how to buy train tickets, how to not physically hit people for no reason, how to use their senses, how to communicate with people, really basic stuff like that. I reckon OP has mastered all of that unlike some of the students I taught :( ).

Well given what you wrote there was only going to be one answer.

So why did you give two options? And why did you ask the question?

Then tell the truth. A friend and I were shopping when we were intercepted by a chap selling 'dead sea' soap and skin care. Before I even had chance to draw breath, my friend told that chap that she couldn't possibly buy his goods because she suffers from terrible sea-sickness. That stopped him in his tracks - and it is the truth!

What's done is done, OP. The best you can probably hope for at this point is to learn from th experience.

If you encounter a salesperson like this again, the best thing to do is say 'No, thank you,' and keep walking. Don't respond to them otherwise, just keep walking. You'll notice lots of people neatly avoiding them if you watch for a bit.

If you feel you need an extra buffer then wear a pair of headphones. They don't need to be playing anything. Lots of them will assume you can't hear them and the rest can be safely ignored.

I do that, "no thank you", but I try not to make eye contact & if they persist I normally put my hand up in front of me palm outwards (think Native American- how) as a body language blocker.
