Spoke to the customer service mate

    HO or local store?

Send a letter of complaint to the CEO (Google his name) and send copies of any receipts (or bank/cc statement) for the day (or back issues showing regular patronage), send details of your membership card (I can't recall if it has a member number on it) or photocopy of it.

Pile in the evidence that you are a Matalan customer that they won't want to lose. If you are a Matalan member, weigh heavy on the 'membership' aspect (is this the way they want a third party to treat one of their members).
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The one you saw before you posted your thread, when you read the top sticky info thread in capital letters, calling to you:

'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST'.

The template appeal already written for you and everyone. Please don't copy it here asking 'is it this one?' YES. It is.

    :)

    what she said ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  • Thanks, I'm still no wiser as to what the blue text is which I've obviously overlooked, no idea what a sticky is either, but sounds like I've used the right template so hope hopefully the appeal will work. Thanks

a "sticky" is a thread that is "stuck" to the top of the forum, like a post it , to stop it getting lost in the thousands of pages , so all the sticky threads (about 4 of them) are STICK to the top of page 1 of this forum , the second one down at the moment is the NEWBIES READ THIS faq , so is the NEWBIES sticky thread

post #1 of that thread has a BPA appeal and to make it stand out it is coloured blue instead of the standard black, so unl;ess you are colour blind , its the appeal in blue , its that simple

there are only 2 templates in there , one for IPC members and 1 for BPA members , the latter is in blue like this font is that I am typing in

the appeal is unlikely to work" , they rarely do unless you have proof receipts etc , its to hook a POPLA code so you can make a POPLA appeal

the best option is a complaint in writing to MATALAN head office to the CEO and stir up a hornets nest

I have typed the above in red so you can see why colours are used which aid everyone except those who are colour blind (apologies to them)

A sticky thread on a forum is a permanent info thread, 'stuck' at the top so people hopefully read it first.

Start using the forum as intended.

You were staring at the sticky thread, which calls to 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' in capital letters at the top, when you chose to hit 'new thread' instead. Now you think you are stuck here when in fact you should be reading the forum threads back where you were.

Why the question marks and why the interest in the 14 day bribe period? Who cares about that, you won't be PAYING!

You know what to do, we've told you what to read and exactly which appeal to submit & by when and it's not within 14 days.
