  • i finally received my box on Monday, just gonna write to cancel it now.
You're so very special, I wish I was special

  • I received my box yesterday (almost 2 weeks after the card), but the t&c say if you cancel within 7 working days you have to return the box (at your own expense). Although I'm not sure whether you have to return the STB after those 7 days. Anyway, I am planning to wait a week or so before cancelling.

I actually scared them with all sorts getting a solicitor etc i need got a letter saying that they were taking £10 off my monthly bills for the nxt year which i thought was acceptable, doesnt excuse them thou giving me problem after problem since last March, its only just been sorted out.
i actually got a further 6months half price line rental
and they CAPPED my internet but it is not now
also something on my credit, think it was £50
    and the router

the router i got by phoning and then i got the other stuff because of all my problems through a talktalk worked due to my password been deleted which they said happened to everyone but the man i phoned said it has not and it was unaceptable
  • also another thing about talktalk

    WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS,
    1,THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT
    2,WE DONT NEED TALKTALK
3,WE COULD GO ELSEWHERE FOR BETTER SERVICE,
    4,TALKTALK NEED US
5,WE NEED TO BATTLE TOGETHER TO MAKE TALK TALK A BETTER COMPANY OR GO ELSE WHERE TO SHUT THEM DOWN
6,WHY DO THEY HAVE CUSTOMER SERVICE?THEIR IS NO SERVICE FROM THEM AT ALL
7,I WILL HAVE TO BE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED BEFORE I AM TWISTED IN STAYING WITH TALKTALK FOR LONG,

I am going to pre-order my new RELIABLE phone and interned when my contract is up unless they make it worth my while and get GOOD staff or atleast put me through to a ENGLISH call centre so i can understand them and their service will have to be FULLY RELIABLE before i stay

just out of interest has any of yous searched for the troubles with talktalk before signing up?
or did you all sign up due to the low price like i did?
  • I have been with Talk talk for about a year now and have saved quite a lot of money by having broadband through them and touch wood i haven't had any problems with them yet. Good luck everyone. I have ordered mine and will see what happens.

    corse you can
i used to do this with sky but not no more as theres a installation fee but all i used to do was sign up and get free month then when month was nearly up id cancel the D/D so never cost me,although i did get bills but setanta shouldt send you bills as you have 2 months free and only have to give 30days notice so after a month CANCEL and your sorted

i think the boxes are waiting ages so by the time they come you might not have 30days to claim so might have to pay £10 as its due in second month

Update: I received a letter AND the Freeview box today, 5 days after the card (which arrived last Saturday) I signed up 20th also (Thursday evening)

I am actually going to Newcastle with my job so will have to cancel anyway! Anyone else who cancels should post their experience here so others can collaborate and check success. I rechecked T&C. It states contract up to 12 months but the webpage when signing up stated

"The Freeview box is provided courtesy of International Sports Management Ltd. The FREEVIEW™ word is a trademark of DTV Services Ltd & is used under licence ©DTV Services Ltd 2002. No annual contract. Payment of £9.99 for month 3 is taken in month 2 on the anniversary of your subscription. Other Terms and Conditions apply."

I m assuming that as it states no annual contract then there is also no minimum contract. My first Direct debit states 1st payment 22 November, which is 2 months from subscribing so hopefully plenty of time to send them a 30 day notice to cancel!
