Free Freeview box and 2 months Setanta for TalkTalk customers old and new!

A bit confused. Is this only completey free to existing customers? When new people sign up, can they cancel their talk talk+setanta in the first month? Or is it just the Setanta part that is free but not signing up to talk talk (if that makes sense).

you have to sign up to talk talk to get the freeview box.

i am existing tt customer but will be cancelling the setanta contract hopefully. xx

I signed up for this last week, and so far no freeview box, but had my viewing card through and letter welcoming me and outlining the payment details. I have tried to phone Setanta to cancel, but they refer me to Talk Talk. I phone Talk Talk and they refer me to Setanta. Starting to think I should never done this.......

I have spoken to Setanta on their rip-off 0870 number as the card arrived on Monday (after 3 working days) but no box yet after 7 working days (and they state 3 days in one place and 4-5 days in another).

The support person was useless. He said the problem was that they had a backlog processing the orders. I asked him when I would get my box - he said he had no idea - maybe another 2-3 weeks. I asked him what would happen about the free trial, he said that the free trial started the moment I received my card even though I have no way of using it, they would take money from me after 1 month.

I asked if I could make a complaint - apparently you can only do this in writing . They have an email address but there are so many complaints about lots of different things that it takes them ages to answer them - Apparently they seem to have a separate queue for letters as they are processed quicker.

Seems like this company is very dodgy - I will be making a complaint. (I will also cancel as soon as the box arrives)

I've had a read at the FAQs and Ts&Cs for this.......I can't see anywhere that states you can keep the box if you cancel. Can someone point this out to me, perhaps I'm a bit dim?

Mike they are seriously dodgy and I would urge all members on here to avoid them at all costs the offers look glossy enough. However the services is appalling make the complaint and cancel now don't give them any more opportunity to access your bank account.

Well all i can say is goodluck to you all lol ive been with talk talk for 3 years eversince they became live and had problems all the time with the phone and the internet,you phone up and cant always help you especially when your chatting to a foreigner who can speak much english lol ,yes they say you get the package within 3 days well that will be 3wks or longer im sorry but ive been there and done it with them never again,you will probably get on going problems with them.Think id rather stick with sky then have no tv
