GB Energy No Longer Trading

I switched to GB Energy.
Today, a leak was discovered on my meter and an emergency engineer cut my supply off.
Trying to get this sorted out, I found out that GB Energy has gone bust TODAY (can one imagine worse luck?!) and there is no one to contact to get my meter changed and my gas supply restored. I am, apparently, protected by Ofgem and they are supposed to contact me, in due course, time unknown. Unfortunately, they do not know that my supply has been cut off as an emergency masure and they might not be in any rush to get in touch. I AM DESPERATE. What do I do now?! HELP!0 -
And there was me thinking I'd locked in a low price when I saw prices going up.0

OK, DD cancelled. Ironically, I received an email this morning from GB requesting a meter reading for my first quarterly bill. So I'm just trying to work out how much I'm in credit going from my first reading to one I just did.
My tariff is 'Fixed 12 Crystal' and my welcome pack stated:
Electricity standing charge (£/day): £0.3157 per day excluding VAT
Electricity Unit Rate 9.8700p/kWh
IIRC VAT is 5%, but would the unit rate stated here include VAT or not? It's ambiguous.0 -

No idea if this is good advice or not, but I had some issues with my meter a week or so ago, was advised to call the gas emergency number, and they had it all fixed and gas supply restored about 2 hours later. 0800 111 999.0 -

Probably the most helpful advice that I have seen today. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Rubbish advice from MSE on not cancelling your DD because the new supplier might need it. Cancel your DD now. You may well get the money back eventually, but that could be months. Any DD for a new supplier would need setting up separately.0

Just what I was about to post, its strange advice indeed. Old DD is no use to a new supplier. Cancelled straight away.
Annoyingly, another headline is 'cheap deals disappearing rapidly' yet we have to hang on until the new supplier takes over before switching as no one will be at GB Energy to process it. Who knows how long that will take? there might be nothing left by then!0 -
Many, many thanks for trying but these are the exact people who cut my meter off (0800 111 999). They are gas leak emergency people. Although kind, they said there was nothing they could do to help because they do not have a contract with GB Energy.TEARING MY HAIR OUT! Family arriving from abroad for Christmas. Phone them again and explain the situation with GB Energy. With that information, they may be in a better position to offer you any advice.joannasinbox wrote: »Many, many thanks for trying but these are the exact people who cut my meter off (0800 111 999).
