Great news, the planning enforcement officers line manager has looked into my initial complaint and..............drum roll............she agrees some of the signs exceed 0.3m2 so they have informed Asda they need advertising consent.0
-
Although I'm I delighted that I have managed to get the planning department to require Asda to get advertising planning permission for the signs, I'm not going to stop there, as the nice (but incapable) planning enforcement officer messed me around in the early stages of my complaint, I have replied to the email from his line manager thanking her for her time etc etc and asked if the council will be prosecuting Asda as it is a criminal offence to erect these signs without the correct permission, now I don't think they will but what the hell, l've got nothing to lose.

UPDATE
I have been informed by the planning enforcement officer that they would only take action if the signs were causing significant harm.
I've asked what they consider significant harm to be, and to reconsider prosecution as both Asda and Parking Eye are aware of the law regarding advertising permission.
I don't think they will prosecute but I'll give it my best shot.
Another avenue I may presume is to contact Asda head office again, and inform them of their law breaking activity and see what happens.
Whatever I do, I will not give up easily, I can be a right pita when needed.0 -

It's his line manager that I'm now communicating with, she doesn't want to know, sorry for the misunderstanding.
The council are more than happy to slap a ticket on your car for parking offences, yet when they can make a few quid for planning/advertising offences their not interested, possibly because it involves too much work!
When I get the next email from her saying they won't be taking action against Asda and or Parking Eye, I will ask for her line manager, I'll take it right up to the chief executive if I have to, I won't be fobbed off.
I'm disabled, retired and have a lot of spare time on my hands, so if anyone on this forum knows how I can make it difficult for the council, please let me know.0 -

It won't get ignored that way.

Address the letter to the Company Secretary.

I've already pestered Sean Clarke (CEO) at Asda regarding parking for disabled people, and I'm happy to bother him again if I don't get the right answers from the planning department.0 -
I think the lady in the planning department is a little cheesed off with me, her emails no longer start, Dear Mr *******, its now just Mr*******!
Anyway it is obvious she will not prosecute Asda for not having advertising permission, now what really sticks in my throat is, Asda were sent a letter almost two weeks ago from the planning enforcement officer saying they had to apply for the relevant permission, so Asda are aware they have/are breaking the law, now you would expect an established company who have been informed they are breaking the law to rectify matters ASAP, not Asda, the signs are still there, not covered up, in full view of everyone who passes the car park.
So back to the lady in planning, I asked for her line manager, her reply is, I've copied her into this email, not exactly an answer to my question but I've worked out who she means, so I'll wait and see if this person contacts me (by the way her line manager is not in the planning department, she is a lawyer).
Not yet time to email me old mucker Sean Clarke at Asda, but rest assured, that time is getting close.
It's also getting near the time to involve my MP, but first I'll give the solicitor a chance to confirm no prosecution will be brought against Asda.0 -
Hi I have issued requests under DPA for 2 sites in Hartlepool . ASDA (FarkingParking Eye) and Anchor retail park ( managed by the infamous UKCPS ltd.).
Planning officer is now looking into this 'complaint' hopefuly will cost the scammers a few pennies.0
