It would appear that the infestation at the "mini-Asda" in Chorley has now gone; following the intervention of Chorley Council, the illegal PPC signs (no Advertising Consent) have now been removed from this shared car park - a car park which incidentally, had suffered no issues ... ever .... well done Chorley Council :-). Perhaps word is getting out in the council "grapevine" ?

It's a shame there isn't some sort of joined up system, perhaps via the Local Government Association, that would pick up when a national organisation decides to play fast and loose with planning and advertising rules and disseminate this it to all councils for investigation.0 -

Until we have a 'joined up system' may I suggest we all report any PPC's who we think are flouting the law, it's easy to do, just one email to your planning department gets the ball rolling.0 -

Our local town council is trying to make the district council double the fees payable by anyone who applies for retrospective planning permission:-

Unfortunately I don't think it's that simple though, I could be wrong but I am sure fees are set nationally by the government and the Council has no discretion to waive or change them.0 -
I think lots of local councillors fly by the seat of their pants and work on the basis of shouting loud enough, with no engagement of the brain, gets them what they want. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That lovely man from the council, the enforcement officer has checked again with his planning colleagues and his line manger, all agree that no rules have been broken, well I have it my best shot!
He, his colleagues and his line manager may think it's over, but it ain't, I've been messed around since I initially reported this breach.
I've asked for his line managers email address, I'll be quoting sections of the town and country planning (control of advertisements) (England) regs 2007, if one council can use the law requiring Asda/Parking Eye to apply for the correct permission, then so will my council.
Now I'm angry.0 -
