New home owner (Parking dispute)
Comments

We were told from the people we bought from there's never been any problems with parking and never had any disputes with neighbours or people visiting neighbours, and it happens regularly.
I don't live to close to the junction to park outside my house because next door which is joined to us as we're semi detached is right on the bend and has a drive we're not right on the corner.
I just wanted people's thoughts that's fine I'll ask politely if people would mind moving or parking outside the house they're going too and look into getting the drive done at the beginning of the year .
Would urge you not to ask people to stop parking outside your house as that's a quick way to a neighbourhood dispute. Even worse if you asked someone to move!0 -
It's everything to do with manners, and you saying it isn't is ignorance I recognise the van now he was parked 5 houses down all day and then when I go out he's parked there. He left at 8 yesterday... all I'm asking is to park and leave space for me to park as well.CC - £2,555

It doesn't work that way and I'm not showing ignorance at all. Lived in many different houses and flats and only a drive or allocated parking gives you the right to park in a certain area. Even disabled parking spaces outside houses are courtesy spaces (though I think using them is bad manners)Just trying to save you from making enemies of your neighbours.0 -
It's a browser thing rather than this site
With Chrome they removed the option some time ago but you can install an extension 'Click to Tab' that will do it or get used to right clicking and 'Open link in new tab'
Only noticed it on this site
You can also press Ctrl when clicking a link, which is great when I remember. :wall:
Thanks for the extension info .
Back to the OP, be thankful you have a ready made dropped curb, that has saved you a couple of grand.0 -
I know who the van is, they're doing work at a house down the road and when it's 9-5 they park outside the house and 5-8:30 they must move the van for the home owners, I've seen the van a few times so tomorrow morning I'll knock on the door and ask if they can park closer to one side so I can park in.CC - £2,555

It wouldn't let me post pictures, if you look through you'all see them.
The van now doesn't park outside hasn't for 3 days after I left a note - the note said if you're going to park here please leave enough space to park here too.
Probably will continue to happen that's fine I have no legal right I just wanted to know my rights.
Thanks everyone.CC - £2,555
