Just a thought, if the road isn't wide enough for parking & you don't have a drive - where do you park?0

I thin there's been some confusion caused...
So there's the road that follows the shape of a U. In between the road and our fence there's a public footpath and then in between the footpath and the road there's a dropped curb that is red tarmac but it's the length of a car and a half and along the whole U everyone parks there for people tat don't have drives.CC - £2,555

Does the red tarmac cross the pavement so that people can drive across to reach their driveways? If it does then it is likely that the red tarmac is not a parking space for each property but just an access across the pavement for people to reach their drives. If this is the case then no one is entitled to park on there because that would block the pavement for pedestrians. It would be for access only.
No so the red tarmac is separate it's like this

The red tarmac is on a dropped curb, a picture would be easier to explain but I'm at work and can't get one.CC - £2,555

Well as that's between the footpath & road it's definitely not yours. If it was yours it would be on your land or assigned to you - but assigned parking is normally on estates or with flats.
Are there any signs to indicate parking restrictions?
Does the parking on the red bit run right the way around (no gaps) rather than just strips to reach the drive (if you had a drive)?0 -

Outside every house has one the same size it's around a saloon car maybe an insignia, in between them and the houses theres small grass patches we currently have a stump there from a tree that has been removed I'm currently trying to upload a picture but it say's I can't because I'm a new member and it's to stop spamming. There's no signs I'm thinking it's for the houses but it's not written I might ask the council about buying the land from them and then I can do what I want I'm going to call them tomorrow.CC - £2,555

So you have the road, strips of grass with red tarmac access drives over them, the footpath & then your houses?0

Only the deeds will sort this out. It doesn't sound like you own any particular parking spot and it is "first come, first served". But we can't guess - only the deeds will tell.
If you put in the url of your picture with some spaces in it somebody can join up the spaces and turn it into a link for you.0 -
if i understand your description your house is on a corner, or immediately next to a corner. You may find that the council deem your property to be so close to the corner that it would be dangerous for you to attempt to pull your car out directly onto a junction. As such they haven't, or wouldn't, grant permission for a dropped kerb.
I've known people in similar position refused permission for a dropped kerb as they were the first house next to a T-junction.
If its a works van it might be worth complaining to the employer, especially if the driver isn't resident in your street and the van is being 'dumped'.
There is very little else you can do i'm afraid, its not worth the grief of getting into a battle with them. My neighbour has a number of transit vans he does up, they fill his front garden and another few spaces on the street. as such he also has to park his own car on the street. They have a ritual where he drives to work in the morning and his wife will drive a van into 'his' spot on the road to keep it until he comes home from work. My other neighbour has fallen out with him several times and , if he ever sees the first neighbours spot free nips round the corner and borrows his mates car and parks it in the first neighbours spot. it really is pathetic and someone is going to come to blows over it eventually.0 -

If you take the spaces out should work?
I've just bought the deeds online and it doesn't show it in our red lines so not sure if it's the council so I'll need to ring them and see about buying it. If we had a drive put in where would we stand because we wouldn't own it but it's blocked for that purpose?
