Why can't anyone open the attachments I send on my emails?

Have you tried sending the email to yourself and opening the attachment?

Have you tried sending a plain text file to someone & yourself?

I find it odd that .RTF which should be compatible with all word processors cannot be opened

Do you know what I am just rubbish at all this....I sent an email to myself but it never came through

You did put the same address that you used to send it in the to box.

So it is there twice one above the other.

why not do what OP says and install Open Office, this is a good piece of software and you can save files to MS word so other people can open them

Hi Chris thanks for that. I have installed open office so if in future I do all assignments on open office and then add the attachment from open office will they open? Sorry to be so basic

That should work and you need not be sorry - not all of us are computer savvy. If you had a problem with your sink you would ask a plumber.
