  • Cheap shopping is not always cheap shopping.

Parking Eyes reputation is no longer the thing of myths, anyone who does not know about this company has to have been under a rock for years.

It is simply not worth the risk, if they operate the car park :
    STAY OUT.

    Please learn !

Thank you for your recent email in regards to the parking charge notice you received in our Bearwood store.

The majority of our store car parks are managed by ParkingEye and, as you may be aware, ParkingEye manages this car park using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras that monitor cars entering and leaving the car park. This system ensures that we are able to offer free parking to all our customers and helps to prevent any abuse of our car parks.

I have spoken to ParkingEye on your behalf and they have confirmed that POPLA had reached a verdict with your appeal before we had received your email. As your POPLA appeal has been rejected, ParkingEye and Aldi would sadly be unable to assist with your appeal, as the POPLA determination cannot be overturned. I apologise for any disappointment this may cause.

We hope that you never receive any charges again, but if you do, please do not hesitate to contact us in the first instance so that we can assist with your appeal.

I am sorry that we could not be of greater assistance in this matter.

    Yours sincerely

Any advice? Should I just wait for the debt letters now?

First edit the above to remove your identity.

Aldi weren't asked to interfere with popla!

Keep up the pressure on them to cancel the ticket.

Ignore all debt collectors correspondence and come back if you get court correspondence
  • Thanks I have removed my partners details now

I'm more sure what else to say now because I have already stated my case to them and I don't know why it makes a difference what POPLA decides because they can't make you do anything.

If I get any debt or solicitors letters will come back

You can point out that the popla decision they refer to doesn't stop them interceding to stop pe harassing their customer!!

Debt collectors correspondence is almost inevitable. No need to take any notice of them, and no need to post about them.

Come back if you get court correspondence or any letter before court action.

I have seen rubbish from Aldi but this is the biggest lot of rubbish ever.

Just because POPLA ruled in favour of Parking Eye, does not mean it is set in stone.
Parking Eye can if they wish cancel the charge and Aldi know that.
Jo Bennett at Aldi has lied to you so you need to be talking to the CEO of Aldi asking why Jo Bennett tells lies.
    Why do Parking Eye lie.???

POPLA is an independent system and the only binding is that the operator complies with their decision .... ie if PE lost they cannot take further action.
POPLA do not have any powers that instructs the operator that they cannot cancel the charge because they won.
Up to the day in court PE can cancel. Many operators discontinue cases regardless if they won at POPLA.
Why? because many decisions by POPLA are flawed and it does not follow that a real court judge would agree with them

A note to the CEO is that Jo Bennett lacks knowledge which is not in the interests of Aldi customers.

For you, it all depends how much Aldi want your business and that includes your friends and family.

Jo Bennett clearly needs to be re-trained if she is to carry the title of "Aldi Parking Management"

    Complain strongly to the CEO
  • Thanks il definitely be saying all the above.

Also the only email address I could find for company was the customer.service@aldi one. How can I get my complaint passed to the CEO?

This won't go to court. We have never seen any Aldi case go there. Likely next step for PE is to hand over to debt collectors who will be an irritant, but they can do nowt about nowt.

Keep pressing Aldi, but I rather suspect PE will be pressing them from the other side. Over they years it has seemed to me that staff in the Aldi parking department are somewhat in awe and trembling of PE.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
