The article says he sold more than 20,000 of them at £4 each.

He is charging £4 to look up a cars details on the DVLA web site and print off a nifty coloured reminder - I wonder if the people buying them think he has some magic access to the DVLA computer system?

If only I could think of an idea for a web site that would get loads of people paying a few £'s for something...
Like that 16 year old girl that was on the news earlier this year that made £50,000+ on a web site where 200,000 Chinese couples paid around 50p to ask her opinion what a good English name would be for their babies!

Because, clearly, writing "Tax expires 31/3/17" on a piece of paper and shoving it in the windscreen yourself is FAR too hard for Daily Mail readers.

Yes far too hard for at least 20,00 people.

    It's a Daily Mail article.

He "made £100k profit", selling them at £4/ea. Clearly, his overheads are zero. Or they're guessing...

    4*20000=80000 not 100000
Maths maybe not your strong point?

Have you actually bothered clicking on the link to that Wail article?
    From the subhead bullets...
"Schoolboy made £100,000 by selling £4 tax disc renewal reminders"
"...after making £100,000 from his road tax reminder business."
"...Harvey's family said the schoolboy has sold more than 20,000 of his paper tax disc reminders for £4 each."
"The reminder discs cost £4 a time... His £100,000 profit..."
