Hey Guys. If like me, you only have a mobile and dont want to break the bank calling the premium or "free" number. Try calling 0141 568 6806. Choose the option you are looking for. If by chance they say that particular department cant help your inquiry and attempt to give you another number to call. Respectfully remind the advisor of your initial waiting time and that its a low rate number your calling and ask them to re-direct your call !! This works.

I have a small flat with storage heating there are 2 meters one for heating, one for lights ect. I have tried to change my supplier but i have been told the meters belong to scottish power and no other supplier can take over, I am told it is economy 10, and to leave this company i would have to pay someone to install another meter or pay the dreadfull amounts they charge me. Surely i cannot be held captive by scottish power should i contact the regulator can anyone advise please, One piece of good news is i recenty heard all storage heaters are to be scrapped by 2015 it seems by law can anyone confirm this0

Hi,
wow, thread nearly 7 years old.
Only certain companies offer the E10 tariff.
Economy 10 tariffs consist of 10 hours of off-peak electricity, which suppliers offer at a reduced rate. Like economy 7, this tariff suits households that have storage heaters and appliances that can be set to run at particular times. Unlike economy 7, economy 10 customers not only enjoy 7 hours of discounted electricity overnight, they also get an extra 3 hours in the afternoon.
E.ON, Southern Electric and EDF all offer economy 10 tariffs.
I would think you are wrong about storage heaters being scrapped.
There are millions of houses with them, I have them, they are efficient and generally maintenance free, used properly, they aren't too expensive.0 -

I tried this Number today. Pressed whichever number of 1 to infinity of the options offered, that sounded like the bit I wanted (wanted to replace E7 meter with single rate) and was told to call on the 0845 number. So I redialled and pressed a more open ended sounding option. On this occasion I got through, well at least as far as another set of options. This time I just pressed the first, which took me to another set of options one of which was to get them to call me back. Which they duly did and staggeringly the person (real one) was able to deal with it. So a big thanks to all involved on this thread and whoever first said never say die
Ps Including having to join this site to thank you all, and typing all this lot out plus the time spent actually avoiding a paid call. I think I could have earned the cost of the call 10 times over.0 -

Called the mobile number and it says: This service is no longer available
The number is currently given on the SP website here:
https://www.scottishpower.co.uk/contact.process?execution=e1s1
You can also request a free call back instead using that link (may only be active when waiting times exist)
Or pethaps follow the alternative guidance here to ask why they are displaying a telephone number that you claim is no longer available.

Dial 0800 027 0072, do not speak, ignore all instructions, do not press any keys - just wait .. .. eventually a voice will say """you are having problems - we will put you through""". At that point a human will answer and you will save 30 minutes !. The best bet remains a 'call back' request from your account page.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
