Have a great holiday excelpaul, I'm still waiting for all my checks to come through before I can resign from my current role and so it looks like I wont start my new job until the autumn! Have had to get a new car as someone crunched mine, no injuries to either party- no real hassle but an unwanted task! My insurer has been brilliant, crash Tuesday, offered settlement on my car Thursday! Picked up my new car Friday.CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!0

Enjoy your holiday Paul.
That was quick work on behalf of your Insurers crv.
That sounds a great part time job browntoa, really interesting.
I told my main customer I no longer want to work for them ten days ago, which effectively means I'm wrapping the business up. No idea when I will actually not be working, the words 'up to a year' to replace us, have been said. I need to check with my accountant if it makes sense to run into another financial year or not (April). Quite happy at the moment, working but avoiding the corporate carp that I loathe!0 -
I'm wondering if we should collate all the part time jobs that seem to be available to us in one post in here or on as new thread.
I'm thinking some types of job are better suited to our age group and circumstances , either not needing to work but wanting to keep occupied or just needing an occasional "top up " job to keep the finances straightEx forum ambassador

Counting off the days now until my final day on 13th July. Nice to think that I'll be going on holiday the day after Trump arrives!0

Hi bugslet.
My insurers were very good! Hope that your clearer when you'll be wrapping up the work!
I've tendered my resignation and have a start date early September in my new role. No one seems very clear what that role will pan out like, so it's all very exciting. Big difference will be the increased commute, but although costs to me will go up I'm hoping that the increased pay and subsequent increased pension will make it worthwhile. I have a 2-3 year timescale in mind before either fully retiring or taking my pension and doing some part time work.
I seem to have been working every weekend for months as "extras" which although the additional pay is welcome has meant I've hardly seen Mrs CRV, so I'm off this weekend as is she and sorting some of the garden out! I've got to remember to try to keep a work/ life balance!CRV1963- Light bulb moment Sept 15- Planning the great escape- aka retirement!0 -
Greetings one and all from beautiful Valencia. My last week at work has just finished; everyone was so kind, and lots of celebrations as I'd been there more than 26 years. Great to go on holiday the next day as it stops any temptation to mope.0
