I use a basic oaty tray bake recipe and then chuck different things in, depending on the cupboards/my mood... nuts, stem ginger, coconut, dried fruit, peel, seeds, ground almonds, corn flakes/bran flakes/rice krispies... etc... I like tray bakes :)
    TOP MONEYSAVING TIP

Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!

I tend to just make fairy cakes and flapjacks, although I have ordered some ingredients for my shopping on monday to try out a few new ideas.

The problem I always find, is everything goes stale within a day or two. I do store them in tupperware boxes too.

nicky1306 - malteaser tray bake sounds lovely!! Do you have a recipe to share?

I've only made muffins, banana loaf and carrot cake but would like to do more baking. I love baking - it's the washing up I don't like!!!
  • I am lazy and as much as I love homebakes cant be bothered with the mess and washing up. So I throw everything into my breadmaker and get it to do the work. I make sweet loaves - dont think I have made the same one twice!
They are usually based with wholemeal SR flour and 0% fat yougurt - so no fat! I occassionally use Apricot FF as its the only flavour my DD doesnt like so I save all the wee pots and use them. I usually add Banana's as well but have made it without. I then add different things cinnamon, nutmeg, raisens, bran flakes, dates, walnuts, almonds, seeds, honey, chocolate - anything I have really.
Havent had a bad one yet!

Malteaser Tray bake for those that asked! I warn you IT'S ADDCITIVE!! And not that cheap to make either, but very yummy!!

    100g butter
    200g milk chocolate
    3 tablesp golden syrup
    225g finely crushed digestive biscuits
