How do I know what type of screen protector is on my iPhone?

Got a second hand iPhone 5 and I can see that there is a screen protector of some type on it. How can I tell if it's just a plastic flimsy thing or a glass one?
It doesn't have even the tiniest air bubble in it, so I'm reluctant to peel even a corner off to find out as I know I wouldn't be able to get it back on without any new bubbles!
Is there an easy way to find out?

I know a few people who have dropped theirs onto concrete and the screen has survived without a scratch. My screen broke when it was dropped from a short height onto carpet.

Rip it off and have a look and hope it comes off cleanly. Otherwise just leave it on.

To avoid air bubbles and dust apply the sceen protector in a bathroom after a recent shower. But not during a shower or soon after a shower because the phone and/or protector will steam up.

Personally, I've never, ever used a screen protector on any phone mainly because I hate them and they are not necessary.

Leave your phone by a window (closed). Come back in 10 minutes; if the screen is cold to touch and colder than anywhere else (assuming it has a plastic cover of similar) it's glass. If the screen is the same temperature as the plastic cover or window sill the protector is plastic, if you take it off it will gain air bubbles, trust me. You can peel off and replace when first putting it on but after about 5 minutes your doomed to have air bubbles if you try again, even in the best environment possible.

If it has no air bubbles just leave it
