yeah my daughter uses hers when she has period pains.
You can cool them down in the fridge too but put em in a plastic bag first or the rice will go mouldy :-*
I found them on an american frugal site where they are called bed buddies.
They are lovely put on your tootsies at the bottom of a cold bed and you can warm the bed like you do with a hotwater bottle before you get in. They are about £10 in littlewoods.

If you are making one of these for yourself, an old terry sock (clean of course!!) is ideal, fill with rice and seal up it just fits around neck or on shoulder. Of course as a gift I guess something posher (new sock? lol) should be used!

Try it with a bit of lavender oil (or whatever you find best). It really does help :D (Well, I think so, anyway)
  • i did the during the night shop last xmas on the 22nd or 23rd, it was fabulous, straight through the till and everyting. highly recommend it.

Been reading through this thread as I am about to make out my lists for shopping still to do! Can any of you middle of the night shoppers tell me the best time to go? I have used my 24 hour Tesco at all sorts of odd times but find the aisle strewn with cages while they re-stock the shelves if its the middle of the night.
