Didnt realise they made it a 1.8 as well, dont know why they bothered with the 1.4 found it really frustrating after the the nippy diesel engine(my son had the 1.4 s whilst I had the 2.2 cdti),thanks for enlightening me.

Yeah the 1.4 can be frustrating although it’s never been so slow as to cause any trouble. I mainly use it for my commute and for that it’s perfect – comfy and economical. My commute is across a city so I rarely need nippy for that, the 3.0 Z4 in the garage takes care of my nippy needs

Haha! I truly don't care about all them street creds and such man. To be honest why are people hating on civic though, swear its better than or atleast not worse in terms of aesthetics than vw golf and small corsa every young drivers drive.
Nicely stated. Re. Honda, my experience after 11 years with my Jazz is that they are extremely reliable and that's what you need.

Try a Honda Integra, Civic Type R, NSX or a S2000. You will seldom see any pensioners driving these cars.

Lol could we have a list of your imaginary car lot?

Far from it. I drive a 10 year old plus Volvo that I got cheap as chips.

    No you don't.

I'm 32 and just traded my 2.2 Diesel Civic (58 plate) for an S-Max for a growing family, she had done 140k miles, new clutch and DPF in Feb, and was an absolute dream! I recommend the diesel, its fast enough without being ridiculous, it has a chain instead of a belt which is one less thing to have changed. Diesels all come with Cruise Control. I had the EX spec with 17" alloys, which made it a fun ride round mountain roads, but crashed over bumps terribly. Post 09 models had all the USB inputs etc for your music player etc, I added an aftermarket device (X-Car Link) quite easily to mine. EX should have Sat Nav built in etc. Get one with a decent service history and you should be laughing. Don't get all the comments about them being boring, they're great cars, and the 2.2 is so torquey, i pulled a large caravan with little issue with mine.
I woudnt have got rid of my civic if it werent for the requirement for a bigger car. My wife has a Jazz and it's lower mileage and requirement to do much less miles meant it was simply wiser to keep that over the civic.
