My hair is falling out!!!

Oh gawd, you've just reminded me I've got this to look forward to.
With DS1, I think the hair loss peaked at about 6 months - this was also the time when my periods came back, so a very cheerful time that was. My hairdresser was very reassuring though, and pointed out that there was new hair growing around the hairline.
Hope yours settles down soon, and hope the rumours about it being worse the second time round aren't true!0 -
I think it's a big con. All they tell you about in pregnancy books is that your hair gets a lot thicker & luxurious when pregnant.
They omit to say it's because it's all going to fall out afterwards!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I lost lots when I had both my babies. and again after a bad year with a bereavement, change of jobs...lots of stress I lost lots. every time it came back but it is a worry at the time.x x x0

Hi Snaggles,
My DD is 22 weeks old. I have fairly long hair and when I wash it big clumps come out. DH is always complaining about it. I have to clean my hairbrush everyday.
My DD has also discovered my hair (fringe only as the rest is tied back) when she's tired she like to stroke it, which will no doubt turn to pulling very soon.
MDWProud to be dealing with my debts
DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it
dreams do come true (eventually!)0 -

I don't know the exact ins and outs of it, but it's some kind of plant extract/serum which has had a 9/10 success rate. It's not based on the male pattern baldness cure Regain either (which some women resort to).
It was in the Daily Mail I think it was a few weeks ago, not sure where. But should be approved and on their shelves in the next few months.
This is now on the boots.com front page (if its the same product?)
I've heard about the regaine product for the future if needed and think they do a womans version as i was diagnosed with female pattern baldness...which is scary as hell, even though i'm told not to worry its hard when you can see your hair thinning..
.. anyway, my point is. I was told that with regaine once you start using it you have to keep going as if you stop you lose anything you have grown  .. and you have to be free from it for 2 yr before becoming pregnant !??not sure if the boots version will be the same.
I am too hoping mine is just this bad now because its my second baby (5mths old) - dont think i'd suit a wig or the bald look0 -
Well OP, glad you were brave enough to post! My DS3 is 9 months old and mine's still coming out, I washed my hair about an hour ago and said to DH "this is never right" as there's a pile on the floor!
I just about remember it after DS2, when my hairdresser thought I'd got a "molt"!!!
My hair is very long though, so thought that added to the problem.
Let's hope it stops soon, otherwise there'll be a "where can I get a realistic wig" thread soon!:rotfl:0 -
That's okay, I'll just start a 'Bald and Proud' thread and we can all hide in there! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
