Easyjet Air Passenger Duty

I have just reclaimed my APD from a flight to Venice as I was unable to fly Easyjet on medical grounds. They refunded me £19.85.0

APD must be clearly itemised on the airline charges and not included in any other taxes. It is a tax levied by the Government and collected by H.M.Revenue and Customs Transport. I have in 2016 been charged a different sum per person on each booking as follows:-
1st Booking flight for July 2016 £14.49 per adult but originally charged £19.69 per adult. On making a complaint I received a refund of £26.
2nd Booking flight for October 2016 £20.79 per adult
3rd Booking flight for August 2017 £26.53 per adult.
Maybe a good idea to check your APD charges? I have referred my complaint to the CAA and Resolver.0 -
you have not stated your routes so people can identify what the valid tax amount is
For a domestic return you would expect it to be APD @ £26
for international you would expect APD @ £13 plus the relevant tax for the departing country
(you can check a one-way booking for the return flight and you will see what the tax should apply)
I expect your complaint may result in staff training to not refer to taxes from outside the UK as APD...does not mean they are not chargeable0 -

They dont look like APD charges (GB or YO) they are not charged in pennies, possibly passenger service charges (UB).0 -

If you booked both outbound and inbound with EZY then the government charges will include both APD and any Italian airport charges.
If you book a one way outbound the government charges show as £13. If you book a one way inbound from Italy it shows the govt taxes in euros - €9. That is in line with the IATA website. Obviously if it's both outbound and inbound on the same booking the euros are converted to GBP and shown in the total government charges, so roughly £20.79.
You don't mention routes so it's impossible to check, but different routes will obviously incur different charges.
I seriously can't see a complaint in this. If EZY were charging APD on overseas departures do you really not think the CAA wouldn't know about it by now, and the travel press, travel forums, FB and Twitter would be awash with complaints?
The person you spoke to described it wrongly and IMO you're blowing it up into something it isn't.0 -
same route and easyjet did make a mistake on the 1st booking !0

I would not expect flights all booked at different times to have the same taxes to the 1p as the taxes originating outside the UK will be in local currency and be converted to £ on the date of purchasesame route and easyjet did make a mistake on the 1st booking !
€10 has been between £7.32 and £9.04 this year0
