    I've cashed in a children's bond for my son & that's the exact amount, YAY!!!! Finally I know what it is! Wouldn't you think they'd have sent a letter saying we've sent the payment now, or at least have he r reference something that matches the account number?! Never mind, resolved!!!! Thanks everyone ��. Well I was right, it wasn't mine after all ��������

    Given that the answer is in post #28 there's no need to guess, but you may well be right about the reference format if the Children's Bond is one offered by NS&I.
