    What was the reference?

Could it be for a rebate, or failed transaction bounced back into your account?

Nope, nothing failed or returned as far as I can see. It doesn't tie up with any direct debit references or standing orders. Think I'll just leave it in there & go through the past year or two's worth of statements to see if anything matches up. I suspect it's just an accidental payment to me but hey ho, I could've just spent it already & not even worried about it!

Well I don't play the lottery so they wouldn't have my bank details.

If you don't tell us what the reference is I fail to see how it's possible for anyone to offer any significant help.

how about providing the reference but replacing numbers with zeroes, or even do something like XXNNNXX X = alpha, N - numeric

What about an eletricity or gas refund,

Could be your accoiunt number or your meter number. I dont get any notifications when they have refunded me.

Why dont you tell us what the reference is.
