Where to go in Europe in Sept?

I'd go to Barcelona and make the visit coincide with one of the two fabulous Catalan festivals, La Diada (Catalan Independence Day) or La Merce. I went to the former this year and it was phenomenal. So much to do, you could never see it all. I will never forget the building of the human towers, but also fascinating to see the growing independence movement. Would do it again in a heartbeat.
Here's some info on La Merce:

And La Diada:

Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

We stayed in Sliema, Balluta Bay but a couple of streets back from the water front. It meant we had the advantage of being able to walk to the bay (about 5 mins) for restaurants in the evening but catch a bus from a suburban street outside out hotel into Valetta. The couple of times we tried catching a bus from the waterfront loads of them sailed through full.0 -
I can offer you a holiday in Turkey, but not this season. You should definitely think of Turkey for your holiday. Have a nice day.0

Vueling does flights to FLR from LGW, it's a bit of a 'Cancellado' airline though, particularly if there are poor weather conditions at FLR meaning their aircraft are too big when full to take off and land in such conditions.0

Just a suggestion.....
The Basque Country. Fabulous. Flew into Bilbao did the Guggenheim etc., bus to San Sebastian, absolutely amazing place, a few days there, then the bus to Bayonne loved it, has a totally unique flavour and atmosphere.
Then back to Biarritz (didn't like it much but it was interesting to see), for a night and flew home from there.
I used pensions, hotels, and an apartment.
So interesting and easy to get around. Food is amazing too.0 -

I went to Gdansk last year on my own, nice for wandering, cheap, clean, safe, hop on a train to Sopot.
I just bought it as the flight was cheap but really enjoyed it.
Although going on holiday alone can be lonely.0 -
Just booked a long weekend in Bilbao with some friends for September, and looking for some inspiration for a long weekend in the October half term with OH and two teens. Looking at Berlin and Amsterdam, but can't decide..0
