  • I can suggest Turkey. As a city I can also suggest Antalya, Izmir, Bodrum.

Yes Malta, but please don't come to Gozo. Too many tourists and we residents end up having to stand on buses, putting up with arrogance, pushing in queues and being run off the narrow pavements.

I sympathise. But tourism is good for the Gozo economy and employs a lot of people. Take away the tourists and what are you left with?

The buses on Malta also get very full, amazing when you consider how many buses there are on the roads. Just took over an hour to get from Valletta to Bugibba on a packed No.48. Too much traffic, too many parked cars, and too many narrow roads.

Well I can recommend Dusseldorf , Germany . Easy to have a boat trip on the Rhine. The old part of the city is good to eat out in, good transport links- tram, underground .
I have been to Malta too lovely place.

I intend going back to both places.

It's been peeing it down today, from dawn till after dusk today.

Spent the day in a couple of God's Waiting Rooms in Bugibba listening to expat coffin dodgers putting the world to right.:)

It was weather like that when I was there in September, only one day though.
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

It was weather like that when I was there in September, only one day though.

At the end of our 3rd week.
First 2 weeks we had excellent weather, but the 3rd week has been mainly overcast, but still warm enough for T-shirt and shorts. Yesterday was a total washout, and today is an iffy forecast, but next week looks promising.

Lots of noisy construction work from dawn until dusk in Bugibba, it's the roads that need repairing, and the buses while v.good value get full quickly om the main routes.
