Virgin Media: Want to stop signing a new contract every time I move

We've moved houses about 3 times in the past 3 years and are moving again. Every time we move, it's been part way through an 18 month contract with Virgin Media. And they make us sign up to a new contract. So we never get any close to getting out of the minimum contract term.
Is there anything I can do to get out of the contract early without paying their ridiculous £240 early exit fees. Or to keep the contract but not sign a new one? I currently have 6 months left on my current minimum contract.

Wait 6 months before moving? Any reason you seem to move so often?0

The contract is for service at a specific address, you are breaking the contract by moving so are liable for an early termination charge, which VM waive if you agree to a new contract with a new minimum term.
If you're living in rented and moving every year (though I don't actually understand why you would move so often either), 18 month contracts are a terrible idea and I have no idea why you would take one out. Unfortunately moving so often hasn't been our decision. We've had a bad run, being in three rented properties all of which the landlords have decided to sell the property. Therefore us having to move. And every time we've moved we we're expecting them to sell, hence why we continued to take out another 18 month contract.0

It works both ways. You wouldn't like it if after 6 months virgin contacted you to say they're stopping their side of the bargain but you still had to pay.0

Dont forget that its possible one of your future moves may be to a property that VM do not supply .Balance of the contract would have to be paid up .0

If they put up the price at any time that gives you a get out of jail free which you could exercise. Not that it would be likely to help as many providers do 18 month contracts for new installs these days so you'd be in the same boat with a different ISP if you continue moving.
Actually though VM (and other ISPs) like to keep everybody in a minimum term - at the end of the term you will be paying more than a new customer so you can either just put up with that or call in for a better deal which they'll gladly offer... in return for a new minimum term.0 -
Wow that's a long lock-in! I would avoid any isp that ties me in for so long0

I think my bill was put up by a couple of pounds in December/Jan 2015/16.
I can't find a PDF bill in my account as it only shows the last 6 months.
Worth a go though.0 -
You can cancel free of charge within 30 days of the price rise email .0
