What to claim? ESA or IS?

  • Anyone know?
  • I was at CAB today for a full benefits check and got to know all the ins and outs... His calculation had us on the same amount on IS and ESA.

He said if we don't get much hassle off the JC then stay on IS... He said he thinks I could get into the support group on ESA but ofc that's just his view on me.

Also he said I am entitled to free prescription's is that right since my partner is claiming IS with me on the claim?

I also mentioned about the Income Support problem and he said we should get the full rate as the arrears of SSP shouldn't affect the claim as we were not in receipt of SSP when we made the claim... Anyone else know?

We've had a payment go in for £19.18 for IS so something is defo gone a miss.

  • Well our award letter arrived and the work out table has my partner receiving SSP! I don't know how many times during making the claim we told them the SSP ran out 22/1/2017 and that is the reason were making the claim from 23/1/2017 we supplied the SSP1 when we signed the claim seems they didn't bother looking at it... Hopefully they sort it out quickly but not holding my breath hope they accept the SSP1 that we resent as proof because my partner won't get another wage slip.

Also they have our savings to high we supplied all 3 bank/savings accounts for the last month £8000,£1148 & £1081 = £10229 they have it down on the calculation as £10496... Do they calculate from savings in the account from a month back or the balance now?

    Thanks Trev
