Lloyds Debit Card - No Contactless

Quick question, I've just opened a Club Lloyds account fairly recently. Got the debit card, everything is up and running OK, but I notice the card isn't contactless. Is this because they don't trust me with an offline card?

The none contactless card is lower risk for them (as most contactless transactions don't go online to check your balance). I'd ring and ask, they can either order you a new card or tell you that your not eligible yet.0

mwarby has it spot on.
If you are a new customer, they may want to see your account activity before providing you with a contactless card.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Budgeting & Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, Credit File & Ratings and Energy boards. I have had a current account with Lloyds for over 10 years and been an exemplary customer and my card still does not have contactless. I also have a credit card from Lloyds with a big limit and the card, which was issued 2 years before my latest my latest current account card, has contactless.
I have had contactless cards from all other banks I've opened current accounts in the last 2-3 years. It has nothing to do with 'new customer'.0 -
You need to make sure the bank have opted in for contactless.
I had to ask to be opted in before they sent me one.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Just call up and ask for a replacement debit card and ask them to opt you into contactless.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

I opened a classic account earlier this year & when they sent me a non contactless card. I called to request one & they said it wasn't available in my area???
I may call them again today just to see if there is any update.0 -
Same thing happened to me with a normal Lloyds account, I just phoned them up, asked if I could have a contactless card and they sent it out for me straight away
Although about a year later, I requested a new card as my other was a little worn, and they sent me the non-contactless one again, but after a phone call, I got a contactless one again. I guess they just send them out as standard0
