PlusNet or Vodafone....

Hi Guys,
I'm moving house soon so I've started looking into Fibre Broadband providers. I'm only really interested in the broadband and not interested in a phone package too etc and I'm wanting a upto 76mb package.
I'm currently deciding between PlusNet and Vodafone (Unless anyone else has any other good recommendations). I was swaying towards Vodafone due to the £28 month deal but after reading a few bad reviews on here its put me off slightly. So I started considering PlusNet, slightly dearer at £32.50 a month (Although paying line rental upfront brings that down a tad) but I'm wondering if i'll get a more reliable service from them.
I just wondered what peoples experience with these companies was for broadband? Cost is a factor in my decision but I don't want to end up saving £2 a month but getting a connection that's slow or dropping out all the time. Also as said are there any other providers I should consider.
Thanks
Mike

A couple of years ago I'd have always recommended PlusNet, but not now. There is not enough people answering their support lines and if you see the amount complaining about things on Facebook you get a good indication why. They are fine as long as things work but if there is a problem that is not covered in their support script you are pretty much stuck.0

After the phone call I've just has with Plusnet I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. It doesn't matter which day or time of day you call them Plusnet are always experiencing high call volumes. Once I finally managed to get through to someone he couldn't help so transferred me to another department blind so I had to go through the whole rigmarole again.
I have been with Plusnet since Nov 2014 and I have their Unlimited 38Mb Fibre broadband and I swear it's getting slower. I also require two separate routers, one BT Openreach and one Plusnet to get fibre bb although I think Plusnet might finally have released a router for fibre bb that doesn't require the BT Openreach box.
When I moved house in June 2015 I could swear it was an 18 month contract I had to sign up for but it turns out it was a 24 month contract so I'm stuck with them for another 7 months.
BT are offering faster fibre bb for less just now so if that's still the case next year I'll consider BT or I might go back to Sky Fibre BB which I think is better than Plusnet.0 -

I find PlusNet easier to reach in the daytime Tuesday to Thursday and also find their ADSL slower than my Sky ADSL was. Incoming now is slower than my over wifi with Sky and it's taken two weeks to get a new router after the original proved faulty (slow over Ethernet and eventually non-existent over wifi).0 -
What speed can your new home get? If its around 50 then BT option one is worth considering0
-
Check your estimated speeds at your new place as not everywhere will get 76meg. I currently get 42meg which is pretty good. I'm with BT and pay £28.99 including line rental for their up to 52 meg unlimited infinity 1 service. I've had no issues whatsoever and love the free wi-fi for when I'm out and about. Sign up via a cash back site for the above price plus a good deal of cash back.0

Thanks for the replies guys. Checking estimated speeds show upto around 66Mbps, which is why i was looking towards a upto 76Mbps package rather than 38Mbps. BT 52Mbps package might be worth considering though at the current offer, not sure how long that offer is on for.
Where are people finding the Sky deals? From my initial look they appeared to be more expensive.0 -
Don't go near Vodafone.
I switched to them and was supposed to go live last week, but I still have no service.
There is no resolution in sight, so I've sacked them today and moved to sky. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
What a choice - Plusnet or Vodafone - two of the worst companies for customer service.0
