Just to let you know that if you apply online and aren't a B&B customer already, it likes to authenticate you electronically.
For this, have your Driving Licence and Passport at hand, before commencing, as there is a time out on the application, which I found out whilst finding my docs and thinking of passwords etc.0 -
It didn't want to authenticate me electronically lol
I filled in my driving licence and passport online. Later I received an email telling me to send in the documents.
Can't be bothered! Other banks have accepted me online with no probs!0 -
Anyone find it strange that B&Bs online access security is lax. They simply ask for UserID and passowrd and nothing else. This is the same for ICICI but other banks ask for more security info.0

I agree with you, that's my attitude now too. If an on-line application can't be verified electronically I just take my business elsewhere. Makes life a lot simpler!0 -
My account has opened without any problems. Just waiting for my money hit the account.
Quite tempted to put a bit of money in their 6.50% AER 6 month bond to protect some cash if base rate goes down.0 -
Its looking like the base rate will go down too. Seems this credit crunch is back from the brink for now, it will bring with it inflation, but normal people dont notice that lol.
Now is a good time for bonds, loads of great offers.0 -

I don't think it is lax. The safeguard is that you can only transfer money to your nominated account. You cannot make payments to unspecified creditors, set up direct debit etc.0 -
Martin just mentioned this account on the Jeremy Vine show Radio2 and the B&B website is like wading through mince at the moment0
