You could of course invoice PE for your time, and, if they do not pay up, take them to court.

    Here's a question:

I had something similar recently, whereby my car was apparently tagged on a Red Route in Shoreditch at 8am, when I was in my office in Chesterfield with a cup of tea at 8:45am on that same day... I've been known to push the boundaries of the speed limit, but not that much!

    So, the question is:

On the photos on the PCN, is it *ACTUALLY* both your car (make, model) *AND* your reg?

Could the reg have been misread?

Is the car the right car?

And, most ominously of all, could your car have been "cloned"?

Yes, yes, and yes, on the document provided to POPLA. The exit pic on the PCN supplied was an infra red photo so neither the car nor the location could be ascertained. The 'evidence' sent to me at POPLA appeal had 'daylight' pictures

Looks clear, there are no ambiguous letters/numbers

In the colour pics. With the IR pics you can't tell

I suppose anyone's car could. I don't have evidence for this to enable a police report surely?

It seems to me that the pics are of my car at that location, as I used to use that Aldi, but not the day they say I did, and it could NOT have been there at the time they say I was.

If push comes to shove and it gets to court, it is your word against that of a very badly discredited PPC. Ask yourself, who is the judge most likely to believe?

  • Can you let me know your POPLA number and I will then raise this with the lead assessor. Obviously POPLA have made a few boo boos regarding ANPR recently.

In parkingeyes evidence pack did they produce hi-res photos of the car, and was there any obvious differences from your car. Did the numberplate look as if there might have been a misread?

Tried sending a message but it failed. I will get the details from my laptop tomorrow. But what will going back to popla achieve?

Ok - so *DID* you visit that particular Aldi at any point within about a week or so either side of the date in question? And if so, when you purchased anything, did you pay for it by card so you have a record of the transaction?

And with the ambiguous letters - well - in my case when I contacted TfL about it, the fella on the phone told me quite clearly and succinctly that he didn't know why the plate had been misread (as it was in my case) as it was obvious the typed reg on the PCN didn't match the photo in the image.

But yes - this sounds more likely to be a "wrong date" incident, if you're sure you weren't there.

Yes, before and after, but I always pay cash. This is why the store wouldn't help.

[sorry, edited the rest of the post, the receipt I found was for a later date]
