Already tried that.:)
Comes back as disk healthy and latest firmware installed.
I'm not going to enable Momentum Cache to avoid complicating matters.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

Not only that, if it's not running properly, why chuck in another variable?
If it's a new install with everything running correctly, then try something like Momentum Cache.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Install the motherboard chipset/SATA drivers from the MB vendor website.0

I did say it's up to you and not necessarily a suggestion, merely pointing out it's there.
Are running hybrid shut down (turn off) and have you moved your page file off the SSD to a second HDD ?
Have you got anything that might be running shadow copy ?
Have you tried a second benchmark program, eg HDtune ?
Have you left the system on to make sure it's doing garbage collection on the SSD controller, see here:

The performance drop you are seeing is consistent with the above results.Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.0 -

Thanks Fightsback.
Just to repeat, this has been a really quick machine until about a week ago, nothing has been touched.
Hybrid shutdown is off.
Shadow copy, nothing running.
Already tried AS SSD as 2nd bench mark program, again massive drop in certain tests.
I'm off work at the moment, pc is on for most of day, it's had plenty of time at idle for garbage collection.
I'd already seen your linked article.:)
Going for a fresh install tomorrow.
If no better, I still have the previous pc, I have some SSD bench marks from when I first fitted the SSD, so by installing there I can see see if the SSD is still slow, or not.
That will then mean problem is in new pc.
Nearly forgot, I've also swapped out the sata lead, no difference.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
Could be a setting in bios, try checking things like the UEFI settings and tweak them.
Also Firefox has had a 64 bit version for a few years now if you check their development page, generally type in Firefox pub in what search engine you use.0 -
Run SSD Tweaker and ensure your optimal settings are on. Also ensure you've done your SSD firmware updates.
Lastly check for Windows background updates. These can be hit performance if you've a lot of updates waiting - especially if it's a fresh install as you say.0 -

What fresh install?I did have updates a couple of days ago, but rebooted a couple of times to make sure they were properly installed in case they were causing the problem.
It was installed in July 2016, automatic in place update to Anniversary a couple of weeks later, it was running really well so left it, and has continued so until last week.
Please read previous posts.:)Move along, nothing to see.0
