Postal Services signing for goods

This covers all postal services out in the UK. I ordered a number of items that have been signed by the DRIVER. As usually I reported it. I also told ParcelForce since they were reporting the a USPS that that could be breaking international law and USA law to be told that they are allowed to sign someone else name, STOP what you are allowed to, after checking the law it confirmed that it is ILLEGAL to sign someone else name so i contacted them again to be told its not. I send a letter to them stating that i will contact the Police and sue them under IDtheif. Also i plan to contact US government to complain to them.
Any ideas anyone else have a DRIVER Signed parcel.

I'm glad that my postie signs any recorded/registered item for me as it saves me a trip to the sorting office. He trusts me, I trust him.The man without a signature.0

My postman signs for my mail all the time. Lovely man, saves me the inconvenience of rearranging delivery.also told ParcelForce since they were reporting the a USPS that that could be breaking international law and USA law to be told that they are allowed to sign someone else name, STOP what you are allowed to, after checking the law it confirmed that it is ILLEGAL to sign someone else name so i contacted them again to be told its not.
I don't really understand what you have written?Gone ... or have I?0 -

We live in the UK, US law does not apply here (despite what Americans might think), there's really no point complaing to the US goverment about your postman.0 -
IDtheif
I'm not aware of this law?Gone ... or have I?0 -
From your posts you do like to let it all out here don't you. I think most people receiving goods from overseas are pleased when they are not stung for import taxes/vat or whatever.
I didn't know the world governments get together to agree international law on the delivery of post but good luck with your suing under 'IDtheif'.
The sender of your parcels has a contract with the postal company they instruct to get the parcel to your address which I assume they did ok so I don't know what the problem, is as long as they were put through the letterbox or put in a safe place away from the elements and line of sight of the street.
I sign for other house occupiers living at my address, there is no requirement for the postal deliver to actually put the parcel into the hands of the person on the first line or deliver to the specific internal department if this was a company address.
You say in your post this is a usual occurrence so you imply you are often not to take these parcels, so what would like them to do with these parcels, just keep trying to redeliver them and hope to catch you in?
Picking parcels up from these parcel delivery companies is often impractical for a lot of people as their don't have a site in every town & city. According to Wikipedia Parcelforce have 53 hubs which include two in Wales, 1 in Northern Ireland so people could be miles away from the place where the parcels are held.0 -
from what ive been told we can sign for international items. however when i sign for an item i use my own name(well scribble;) to show delivered.
if anything comes of it i would see my own sig and know i signed.
a guy at work had a parcel force guy deliver and sign his name(not the driver)but unfortunatly he delivered to the wrong address!!
thats the risk when you dont know the people on the delivery route.
however the flip is today i signed an RD item for a family on my duty as i know they are on holiday for 2 weeks. if i didnt sign for it then it would have been returned in 7 days possibly incurring them more postal fee's for redelivery etc (ebay item)0 -

this all sounds very familiar!!! Are you sure you have not re-registered under a new name and are in fact bringing up an old post!!! If not then my apologies for thinking it!!
As for signing - nothing illegal about it, Royalmail/Parcelforce deliver to addresses not people, as a result the item can be signed for by Micky Mouse if that's who is there. The signature is purely a record to say the item was delivered to the address on the package - not the person named on it. You are on to a looser I'm afraid.0 -

That was my thought too - did that thread get deleted in the end? It is not listed on the threads started by the person I was thinking of!? xGone ... or have I?0 -
the matter has been reported to the Police and the USPS as Parcel Force stated that that was the signure of people living in the house. and USA law does apply to this matter because a USA company was involved. My point is that posties sign for it and put it in the Blue Bin/ out of site the item could get sloten and because deliver / driver guy signed for it we cant do anything about it.0

I can't see the USPS or their legal team getting involved for one item!!! They use PF as the onward delivery agent, once the item is in the UK it is PF responsibility, if they say they have delivered it then thats who you need to take it up with. If they have a signature then you need to ask for proof of that, you will then to file a claim if the signature is not of anyone at that address and the parcel is not there. PF will then send out letters to the address and if no response to those letters then you have lost your case, of they get a response saying nothing was delivered then they normally investigate further. Where abouts in the UK was this? Different areas have different was of doing things, did you actually get the item or has it never turned up? A bit more info would be useful?0
